Conference Announcement and Call for Papers:
**The Phenomenal Qualities Project**

Hosts a conference on -The Metaphysics and Ontology of Phenomenal Qualities-
At the University of Hertfordshire, UK, 16th-17th September 2011.

We invite high-quality submissions on the topic, broadly construed.

Suggested questions of interest for the conference:

Do phenomenal qualities exist as genuine properties in their own right?
What sort of properties are they—relational, intrinsic, categorical?
Can phenomenal qualities exist unperceived?
Are phenomenal qualities intrinsically representational/intentional?
What is the relationship between the phenomenal qualities we find in e.g. perception, bodily
sensation, emotions?
Can phenomenal qualities be functionally analysed to any extent?
Is there a coherent picture on which phenomenal qualities are physical properties?
Is panpsychism the solution to the difficulty of finding a home for phenomenal qualities in the
natural world?
Is there a problem about how phenomenal qualities might combine?
Are phenomenal qualities causally efficacious?
What is the relation between phenomenal qualities and the brain?
