The ASLP’s annual conference will be held at the St Lucia campus of the University of Queensland in Brisbane, starting after lunch on Friday 29 July and ending in the afternoon on Sunday 31 July. The book symposium will be devoted to the recently published book by Tony Connolly (Australian National University) entitled Cultural Difference on Trial: The Nature and Limits of Judicial Understanding (Ashgate, 2010).
The conference will be preceded on Friday morning by a half day workshop for PhD students and early career researchers in legal philosophy and related areas. The workshop will provide an opportunity for participants to gain feedback on current work from peers and faculty mentors and network with other researchers in the field.
Submissions are invited for both the conference and the workshop. The conference theme is “Natural Law and Legal Obligation”, but papers in all fields of legal philosophy are very welcome. Abstracts of around 100 words should be emailed to Jonathan Crowe (firstname.lastname@example.org) no later than 31 May 2011. Participants in the half day workshop will be asked to provide a full paper for circulation by the end of June.
