First Call for Papers
The Ida B. Wells Philosophical Association invites submission of
papers for the annual Ida B. Wells Philosophical Conference (IBWPC).
We welcome submissions in all areas of philosophy and particularly
papers that illuminate African American experiences. The IBWPC is
dedicated to furthering discussion of philosophical issues that arise
from the African American experience as well as provide a context in
which undergraduates and recent graduates can be encouraged in their
philosophical aspirations.

Keynote speaker: Dr. Kathryn Gines of Penn State University

Paper submission deadline: Friday, August 31, 2010

Prerequisites for submission: To be eligible for submission you must
fall into one of the following categories:

• As of the 2010-2011 academic year, you are an undergraduate
intending to graduate with a minor or major in philosophy in the
2010-2011 academic year or you prospectively will receive a Masters
degree in philosophy in the 2010-2011 academic year.

• As of the 2010-2011 academic year, you have received an
undergraduate degree with a minor or major in philosophy, no more than
one year ago, and are not currently enrolled in a graduate program or
you have received a Masters degree in philosophy, no more than one
year ago, and are not currently enrolled in a graduate program.

Submission Instructions: Papers are to be submitted electronically as
an email attachment. Please provide an abstract of your submission.
Additionally, in the email, please provide a brief account of your
academic history (e.g. Undergraduate Senior at University of Memphis,
Major: Philosophy.) We will confirm receipt of submission by email. We
will also notify you if you have been chosen as a presenter or
welcomed as an attendee by the email address you provide.
